San Jose Auto Repair: 1701 Alum Rock Ave San Jose, California 95116, United States; 23 years experience in automotive sciences. 12 years experience as an auto repair business owner and 11 years experience as a general manager of automotive repair chains. It is that level of experience that sets us apart from shops that are run by former mechanics with limited business knowledge and below average desire to provide adequate customer service. I am commited to our customers, that's why you will always find me at the onsite and answering the phone six days a week! I believe that when the "owner is rarely at his business" customer service and quality suffers. This is especially true in this field of business when the owner is spread too thin. I personally write the invoices which are highly detailed with legible documentation of what you are paying for, why the service was needed, and recommendations if we notice anything that should be brought to your attention. I thrive on creating great customer relationships, the automotive sciences, and utilizing modern technology to bring it all together.

I had to get a TON of stuff done to my car. It's an 02 Toyota, and I'd been putting off some maintenance for a while. Just before I planned to take it in, the check engine light came on as well (of course). I called Robert at San Jose Auto Repair who patiently answered all my questions and gave me fair and honest quotes for everything I wanted done to my car, and even suggested ways I could save money, and was never pushy or trying to sell me on anything I didn't truly need.

Everything was perfect. Robert and his crew finished the work ahead of schedule, and my car has been running like a dream ever since, which is fantastic since I've been driving for 4 hours a day since to commute to a new job. Robert even advised me on what sorts of maintenance could wait and for how long so I could save some pennies in the meantime. He even called after I picked up my car and drove it around for a few days to make sure I was satisfied. Plus, they offer a 2 year 30K mile guarantee on their work. Superb!

As you can see from my other reviews, I've had some terrible experiences in the past with other mechanics (especially at the dealership), so I was extra thrilled with San Jose Auto Repair's honesty, great work, and speed. I'll definitely be coming back here for all my car repair needs in the future

Great guys! The first time I dropped my car off for a little bit of work and everything was completed on time and at the price they originally quoted me. No upselling - which is important to me because I don't have time to get a second opinion. The second time they were so friendly, they remembered me and my car and I felt totally taken care of. Now I totally trust them. They've done a much better job than both the Jaguar and Range Rover dealers I used to go to.

We've all had car problems..and lets face it car problems always suck because usually they're always expensive to fix. But Rob is awesome! I'm not a total idiot when it comes to cars but when problems pop up in the more technical & complex parts of the vehicle (like the engine) I'd rather have a professional go at it.

Searching for a good TRUSTWORTHY mechanic could be a pain in the ass because-
1) You don't want to get screwed & charged up the ass for something that will break down the road.
2) you don't want to get screwed & charged up the ass for something that will break down the road.

After searching for a good mechanic me and my wife decided to bring our Rodeo in here for an engine replacement and he quoted us WAY less than what other mechanics were charging so we decided to roll with him...no regrets.

Very professional & friendly, never felt like he was trying to bullshit us or sell us anything we didn't need. All info he gave us was honest & genuine, which in my opinion is pretty damn rare these days. Best of all, he finished the job fast and his communication with us throughout the whole time he had our vehicle was outstanding. After getting our car back, the check engine light kept popping on so we brought it back and he fixed the problem right there...turned out we needed a new spark plug and he just slapped the new one on for us. He asked us to bring back the car after 1,000 miles to check on everything to make sure it was running ok. We did that recently and he is replacing a valve cover for us for a decent price.

Bottom line- if you're looking for a good mechanic I recommend Rob. You drive off with peace of mind that your car was not being messed with & he doesn't feed you any bullshit to make you feel like you have to buy or replace anything- no pressure, just honest opinions on what he recommends for your car. If you have a family with little ones, you can appreciate that honesty a lot. Also, his rates are much better than other shops around too. I decided to make him our go-to guy for any major car problems in the future.
